PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To economically favorably provide a floor material which is free of warping, can be laid flat even when prepared by sticking sliced veneer on plywood by a wet method, and is excellent in strength. SOLUTION: The floor material F is formed by sticking the sliced veneer 2, by the wet method, on the plywood 1 constituted by stacking odd-numbered sheets of veneer 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15. The plywood 1 is constituted of cross veneer 11 and 13 of which the fibers intersect the lengthwise direction perpendicularly and parallel veneer 12, 14 and 15 of which the fibers stretch parallel to the lengthwise direction, while the parallel veneer is stacked in the lower layer in more numbers than in the upper layer.
