PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sterilization apparatus in which hypochlorous acid can be produced smoothly in the water to be electrolyzed without being affected by the fluctuation of the water level of the water to be electrolyzed and the produced hypochlorous acid can be used for sterilization. SOLUTION: This sterilization apparatus 1 is provided with at least one pair of electrodes 5, 5 for electrolysis and an electrolyzing unit 4 having a floater 6. The electrodes 5, 5 are immersed in the water to be electrolyzed by following the fluctuation of the water level of the water to be electrolyzed by the buoyancy of the floater 6. In such a state, an electric current is applied between the electrodes 5, 5 to produce hypochlorous acid in the water to be electrolyzed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
