PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of providing a hole in a fiber reinforced composite product, assuring repetitive good hole quality as well as eliminating possible damage resulting in poor strength. SOLUTION: The center axis of the hole passes through a predetermined position on the surface of a workpiece and faces to a predetermined direction relative to the longitudinal direction of a fibrous body very close to the position. By moving the tool in the axial direction and revolving the tool eccentrically around the center axis of the hole as well as rotating the tool itself around its axis 5, the material is machined in the axial and radial directions at the same time.
