PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spinning reel for fishing, preventing back-lash of a reversion reset mechanism so that the mechanism is stably operated for a long period. SOLUTION: This spinning reel for fishing has a reel body 2, a rotor 3, a spool, a bail support member, the reversion reset mechanism 30, a drive mechanism, and a body cover 2b, wherein the rotor 3 and the spool are supported on the reel body 2, the bail support member is supported on the rotor 3 so as to be reversibly turned over between a fishline-discharging position and a fishline-winding position, the reversion reset mechanism 30 resets and returns the bail support member from the fishline-discharging position to the fishline- winding position, the drive mechanism is positioned inside the reel body 2 and drives the rotor 3 and the spool, and the body cover 2b is attached to the reel body 2 and closes an opening of the reel body so as not to expose the drive mechanism received in the reel body 2. Further, a stiffening member 50 for reversion reset in the reversion reset mechanism 30 is mounted on an arbitrary position of the reel body 2 or the body cover 2b, and the body cover 2b is fastened to the reel body 2 by a fastening member 35.
