CATHODE FOR CATHODE RAY TUBE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A cathode and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to reduce a degradation of screen quality caused due to the moire phenomenon, while achieving improved electron emission characteristics. CONSTITUTION: An oxide cathode for a cathode ray tube comprises a sleeve embedded with a heater; a metal gas arranged at the top of the sleeve; and an electron emitting material layer coated at the top of the metal gas. The electron emitting material layer has a density of 0.7 to 1.7g/cm¬3. The surface of the electron emitting material layer has a surface roughness of 8 micron meters or lower measured by the distance between the highest point and the lowest point on the surface of the electron emitting material layer.
