<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically adjust the layout of images on the paper sheet of an output media, on the basis of the position of an area wherein image formation is impossible on the paper sheet. <P>SOLUTION: A system 200 which adjusts images in order to reduce the quantity of output images to be laid out on edge obstacles (obstacles in edges such as holes or the like) of output media comprises an edge output sensing circuit or routine 250 for sensing the existence of output on the edge obstacles in an output media, an input image adjustment circuit or routine for adjusting input images to an available net image output area on output media in order to reduce the quantity of input images laid out on edge obstacles, and an output image generation circuit or routine for generating the adjusted input images on the output media. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
