PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow discrimination between a background and a foreground that are impossible to be discriminated by a black and white camera, and to allow application to a device using a black and white image as an input image, without being affected by an unstable hue value in an achromatic color. SOLUTION: This image inputting method/device using the method has an imaging process for imaging an object having a background portion and a foreground portion to generate an RGB imaging image, a color-progressing inversion process for generating a color-progressed inversion image where one out of an R imaging image, a G imaging image and a B imaging image of progressed images in the RGB imaging image is inverted, and a lightness component image generating process for transforming color coordinates of a polychromatic image comprising the color-progressed inversion image and two other progressed images so as to generate a lightness component image.
