PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To electrically monitor forgetting of locking and improper locking such as an incomplete locking condition or locking release after work. SOLUTION: In a separation type operation switch used while an operation part and a contact part 2 are mutually connected and fixed by a lock mechanism, opening/closing of a contact 23 in the contact part 2 is switched in the interlocking relationship with operation of the lock mechanism (operation of a lock lever 4) when the lock mechanism (for example, the lock lever 4, etc.), is operated to a lock position from a lock release position and to the lock release position from the lock position so that the contact 23 in the contact part 2 operates normally only when a connection part 2 is securely locked in the operation part.
