PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulse analyzer and a pulse analysis method for quickly analyzing pulses at high speed by using small memory capacity. SOLUTION: A plurality of correlation values are calculated (steps S11 to S15) by successively executing processing for setting an inputted basic pulse train as the initial value of a processing pulse train, shifting the processing pulse train by a minimum pulse interval out of pulse intervals between pulses of the processing pulse train and pulses of the closest basic pulse train and calculating a correlation value between the shifted processing pulse train and the basic pulse train while substituting a pulse interval between a pulse of the processing pulse train and a pulse next to the closest pulse of the basic pulse train for a zero pulse train a generated by shifting the processing pulse train. Then the reference period of a signal included in the basic pulse train is determined (step S16) on the basis of a period in which correlation values of a prescribed value or more out of the calculated correlation values appear.
