PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic wave shielding material which is formed of aluminum foil and possesses translucency. SOLUTION: The aluminum electromagnetic wave shielding material is provided with a large number of openings which are bored through etching. The electromagnetic wave shielding material is manufactured through a method where the aluminum foil of a laminated material composed of aluminum foil and a resin is masked with an etching resist while the openings are left uncovered, and then the laminated material is subjected to etching. The etching resist may be not separated so as to serve as a coloring layer. The electromagnetic shielding material has an equivalent shielding effect with the aluminum foil, is lightweight, easily affixed on a required part if it has an adhesive layer, easily blocking electromagnetic waves, and can be seen through.
