<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method and device for determining a covering range of a sub-pixel by a primitive in anti-aliasing operation. <P>SOLUTION: The pixel is apportioned into a plurality of sub-scan lines, the sub-scan line defines a plurality of sub-pixels on one pixel, the plurality of sub-pixels of multisample points are corresponded on one of the sub-scan lines. The sub-pixel is advanced along an edge between the sub-scan lines, and whether the sub-pixel on the sub-scan line is covered by the primitive or not is judged to determine the number of sub-pixels covered by the primitive.
