摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber type optical device which can increase the distance to a light emitting element, is easy to manufacture, and has superior reliability and characteristics. SOLUTION: A 1st optical fiber body comprises a GI fiber 31 as a multi-mode fiber having a core with an at least square type refractive index distribution at its light incidence end, and this GI fiber 31 is joined by fusion splicing with a following-stage coreless fiber 41. A 2nd optical fiber body is constituted by connecting a coreless fiber 42, a GI fiber 32 as a multi-mode fiber joined by fusion splicing therewith and having a core with a square refractive index distribution, and a single-mode fiber 61 which is joined therewith by fusion splicing one after another in this order from the arrangement side of an optical isolator 51; and the tip of a GI fiber 31 constituting the 1st optical fiber body is formed into a spherical lens (tip sphere) 21 and the fusion point of the GI fiber 31 constituting the 1st optical fiber body is higher than the fusion point of the GI fiber 32 constituting the 2nd fiber body.
