Safety clothing comprising a turnout coat 10 and pants 12 with a built in harness 14 is disclosed. The harness 14 may be attached to the exterior or interior of the coat 10 and pants 12. The harness 14 is adjustable to snuggly fit the wearer. The harness 14 further attaches the coat 10 to the pants 12. A wearer of the coat 10 and pants 12 may connect the harness 14 at various locations to a safety line.
