PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve an economic problem of necessity for multiple visibility meters installed for measuring visibility in multiple points though visibility can be measured in real time by means of a visibility meter in its installation point. SOLUTION: By means of a discriminant function computing part 4 arranged in this visibility estimation device, a discriminant function f() is specified from visibility discriminant parameters w<SB>0</SB>and w<SB>1</SB>about a target point, and a discriminant function value f(x) is found by substituting a characteristic vector x matching an echo intensity distribution extracted by a data extraction part 2 to the discriminant function f().
