PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high pressure supply pump that can increase a discharge and a discharge pressure, and to reduce a body by reducing a wall thickness of a lifter guide via simple machining without causing an increase in a machining man-hour. SOLUTION: The lifter guide 60 for guiding a lifter of the high pressure supply pump is formed to a cylinder with a seam portion 61. The lifter guide 60 is formed from a plate material punched out to a development shape of the lifter guide 60 and bent to a cylinder so that a projected portion 62 and a recessed portion 63 formed at opposite ends of the development shape of the lifter guide 60 are opposed to each other. A projection 621 of the projected portion 62 is fitted in a recess 632 of the recessed portion 63 to connect the projected portion 62 and the recessed portion 63 and shape the lifter guide 60. The lifter guide 60 is thus easier to thin-wall than by shaping by forging and cutting to reduce a machining man-hour. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
