PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a prime mover having a simple structure, and capable of efficiently and surely obtaining large rotational motive power. SOLUTION: This prime mover 10 comprises a hollow rotary shaft 12 for rotatably journaling both sides, a hollow cylindrical body 16 penetratingly fixed to the hollow rotary shaft 12, and having inside a combustion chamber 14 for communicating with a hollow part of the hollow rotary shaft 12, a blowout nozzle 18 arranged by turning a blowout port 48 in the rotational circumferential tangent direction of the hollow cylindrical body 16, an air-fuel supply means 20 for supplying fuel and air in the combustion chamber 14, and an ignition means 22 for arranging an ignition point 44 in the combustion chamber 14. The fuel and the air are supplied to the combustion chamber 14 via the hollow part 36 of the hollow rotary shaft 12. The fuel is ignited in the combustion chamber 14 of the hollow cylindrical body 16.
