PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side ditch structure constituted of a side ditch block capable of inexpensively and efficiently draining ground surface water or under ground water by use of the upper cover and an upper cover put on an opening on the side ditch block. SOLUTION: In the side ditch structure 100 constituted of a side ditch block 10 provided with a drain channel 12 between confronting side walls 11 and the opening at the upper part and the upper cover 20 put on the opening, a headrace hole 14 piercing the upper part of at least one side wall 11 or a water guide incision notching the sidewall 11 upper end is formed in the side ditch block 10, and a drain incision 22 with the thick directional width is formed at the opposite to the headrace hole 14 or the water guide incision in the upper cover 20. The drain incision 22 communicates with the headrace hole 14 or the headrace hole and a drain cap 24 covering the drain incision 22 is attached thereto.
