<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem on a steam turbine whose rotor and casing has a gap narrower due to a difference in thermal expansion speed before a temperature gets into a steady operating state to possibly cause rubbing with the contact of both of them and for which countermeasures are taken in such a case, including adjusting the deformation of the casing with the regulation of the degree of vacuum of a condenser and securing the gap to prevent the rubbing, that abundant experiences and perceptions of an operator in operating the steam turbine are required for preventing the rubbing while identifying whether rubbing sounds are generated or not after regulating the degree of vacuum of the condenser, resulting in a lack of certainty. <P>SOLUTION: A relative position relationship between the rotor and the casing of the steam turbine is seized by measuring means, the degree of vacuum of the condenser required for preventing the rubbing in the relative position relationship therebetween is computed in accordance operation result correlation data and the degree of vacuum of the condenser is regulated in accordance therewith to prevent the rubbing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
