PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin battery capable of preventing a breakage of equipment or the like using the battery caused by the rupture of the battery without causing a rise of a battery manufacturing cost and requiring strict sealing conditions or the like. SOLUTION: In this thin battery, a flat and spiral power generating element 4 wound with a positive electrode 1 and a negative electrode 2 through a separator is housed in a housing space 5 of a laminated exterior body 6. A positive electrode tab 8 and a negative electrode tab 9 are connected to the positive electrode 1 and the negative electrode 2, respectively. Both tabs 8 and 9 are projected out of the battery. The positive electrode tab 8 serves as well for an external electrode at the side of the positive electrode 1. A negative electrode tab 9 consists of a thin metallic foil and is connected to an external electrode at the side of the negative electrode 2 through a safety piece 12 disposed at a position corresponding to the housing space 5 in the outside of the battery and leads 10 and 11 electrically connected to both sides of the safety piece 12. |
