PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bumper structure with a muffling function for a vehicle capable of reducing noises, cased by resonance within a floor side member, inside the side member itself by utilizing a rear bumper attached to its rear end. SOLUTION: A bumper cover 6 is mounted on a bumper reinforce 5 of a vehicle width direction mounted on a rear end part of a hollow floor side member 1 on each of both sides. A mounting member 10 for mounting the bumper reinforce 5 at the rear end part of the floor side member 1 is constituted as a box to function as a Helmholtz muffler for absorbing resonance sound of the floor side member 1. A pipe-shaped neck part 12 for communicating a base end part with an opening part 18 formed at a front surface part 11 of the box is projectingly provided at the front surface part 11. A peripheral surface part 13 and a back surface part 14 of the box are mounted on the floor side member 1 and the bumper reinforce 5, respectively. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
