A process to adjust the rotational output of a motor vehicle drive train (10) with a continuously adjustable drive (20) with clasping element (26) alters the drive of this element by mechanical tension in dependence on predetermined operating conditions of the drive train. An Independent claim is also included for a device for operating the above process.
