PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy-saving air conditioning method and its system using a humidity conditioning material. SOLUTION: In the energy-saving air conditioning method of suppressing energy consumption required for the operation of air conditioning equipment, to air-condition a space with building structure of high airtightness and high thermal insulation, (1) the humidity conditioning material with a function of absorbing steam in the air in a prescribed relative humidity range is installed in the space, (2) the relative humidity of the space is conditioned by the operation of the air conditioning equipment, (3) the steam in the air is absorbed by the humidity conditioning material in the prescribed relative humidity range, (4) the space is air-conditioned to a prescribed air temperature by the operation of the air conditioning equipment, and (5) energy consumed as latent heat when the steam is liquefied by a heat exchanger of the air conditioning equipment is economized.
