<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an observation apparatus which makes it possible to obtain a tomographic image suitable for microsurgery using optical observation means. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus has a microscope 41 having an observation optical axis for observing the examinee, an ultrasonic probe 58 for obtaining the ultrasonic tomographic image of the examinee, a detecting element means 56 for detecting the position of the microscope 41, and a sensor 59 capable of detecting the position of the probe 58. The apparatus is capable of obtaining the relative positions of the observation optical axis O of the microscope 41 and the ultrasonic tomographic image of the probe 58 in accordance with the results detected by the means 56 and the sensor 59. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
