PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a route information providing method, a providing system and a program capable of surely guiding a user to a destination at a low cost. SOLUTION: This route information providing method includes a step that a computer of an information provider receives the positional information including a mark of a first landmark closest to a walker's present position, and a mark of a second landmark closest to a destination to which the walker heads, and a step that the computer of the information provider calculates a proper route from a position corresponding to the mark of the first landmark to a position corresponding to a mark of the second landmark, and transmits the same to a walker's portable information terminal as the information including the marks of a series of landmarks. In this route information providing method, the providing system and the computer program, the marks of the landmarks are displayed on several selected fixed properties as guide marks.
