ARTIFICIAL TIDELAND AND ITS RECLAMATION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial tideland and its reclamation method having excellent effects of purification of soil and water quality and growth of organisms. SOLUTION: This artificial tideland 1 is reclaimed using a reclamation material 2 formed by mixing an organic substance mixed material 3 and a sandy material 4. The chemical oxygen demand (COD) of the reclamation material is about 2-15 mg per dry weight of 1 g. The artificial tideland of such constitution can be said to present environment desirable for the benthos living in the tideland because of containing a moderate quantity of organic substance.
