PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer method by which an image formed by a disperse dye is clearly transferred to a material composed of a natural fiber or a regenerated fiber to be transferred without impairing properties of the material to be transferred, and to obtain a transfer sheet. SOLUTION: In the transfer method by which the image of a transfer material formed of the disperse dye is sublimated and transferred to the material to be transferred composed of the natural fiber or the regenerated fiber, the method comprises a process for coating the material to be transferred with a mixed solution of a molten liquid obtained by melting one or more kinds of waxes selected from white wax, Japan wax, carnauba wax, polyethylene resin-containing paraffin wax and hydrogenated palm oil with a solution obtained by dissolving a solid polyester resin in a solvent, a solution obtained by dissolved a solid polyurethane resin in a solvent or a liquid polyurethane resin, and solidifying the mixed solution to form a substrate layer comprising the mixture of the waxes and the resin, and a process for sublimating and transferring the image of the transfer body to the substrate layer of the material to be transferred.
