PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve executing property of a screwed steel pipe pile and increase the bearing force of the pile. SOLUTION: A screwing spiral blade 3 having an outer diameter of about three times as large as that of the pile body is protruded by substantially one round in the lower part of the steel pipe pile body 1 from which an excavating cutter blade 2 is projected in the lower end. The spiral blade 3 is arranged at a position set apart from the lower end of the pile body 1 by about three times as much as the diameter of the pile body. The distance extending from the lower end of the steel pipe pile body 1 to the spiral blade 3 is defined as the leading pipe. In a construction work, the pile is pressed in while rotating it. In this way, the ground is cut by the spiral blade 3 while the ground at the tip of the pile is excavated and the pile is forced to penetrate in the ground by the rotary propulsion.
