PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overhead traveling crane capable of freely moving over the whole of a work region even in the case that an overhead height must be partially decreased. SOLUTION: An overhead traveling crane 20 is arranged in a work region having a first ceiling 142 and a second ceiling 144 adjacently placed to this first ceiling 142 given a lower height than it. The crane has rail 22 for lifting making a running rail 24 movable in a vertical direction in the upper from a corresponding position of the second ceiling 144 in a side of the first ceiling 142, the running rail 24 linked to the rail 22 for lifting to be made capable of lifting between a pair of wall parts 148 of the first ceiling 142, a first girder 26 supported orthogonal to the running rail 24 to be made movable along it, a second girder 28 supported to the first girder 26 to be made movable in its extension direction to make the end part capable of protruding to a side of the second ceiling 144 from the end part of the first girder 26, and a running hoist 30 provided movable along the second girder.
