<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a complex which prevents a composite member from causing shrinkage during sintering and reducing strength due to a sintering failure. <P>SOLUTION: The complex 1 comprises a core material 2 consisting of a first hard sintered compact made by means of combining first hard particles consisting of one or more compounds of a carbide, a nitride, and a carbonitride, with 4a, 5a, and 6a group metals in the periodic table, with a binding metal, or first ceramics made by means of combining first ceramic particles consisting of an oxide, a carbide, a carbonitride and a nitride of at least one element selected from the group of 4a, 5a, and 6a group metals in the periodic table, Al, Si and Zn, with a sintering additive; and a skin member 3 of coating a periphery of the core material 2, which consists of a second hard sintered compact having a different composition from the above first hard sintered compact, or second ceramics; wherein a ratio C<SB>in</SB>/C<SB>out</SB>is 0.5-2, when C<SB>in</SB>means a residual carbon amount in the above core material 2 and C<SB>out</SB>means a residual carbon amount in the above skin member 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
