COEXTRUDED, BIAXIALLY ORIENTED POLYESTER FILM WITH GOOD METAL ADHESION AND PRODUCTION PROCESS THEREOF

PURPOSE: A coextruded biaxially oriented polyester film with good metal adhesion and a production process thereof are provided to be effectively used in flexible packaging. CONSTITUTION: The coextruded, biaxially oriented polyester film with high metal adhesion consists of a base layer and at least one metal adherent outer layer applied to the base layer B. The metal-adherent outer layer has a metal adhesion of at least 4 N/25 mm and a thickness below or equal to 1.6 micrometer. The metal-adherent outer layer comprises an amorphous copolyester built up from ethylene terephthalate units and ethylene isophtalate units and from ethylene glycol units.
