<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively carry out oxidative decomposition of PAHs (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) contained in an exhaust gas in a fuel exhaust gas system of a factory, a waste material treatment facility or the like. <P>SOLUTION: Removing of dust and decomposition of PAHs in an exhaust gas to be treated are simultaneously carried out by forming a decomposition catalyst layer 2 effective to PAHs components, obtained by supporting, as a catalyst component, one kind or at least one combination selected from metals of Pt and Pd and oxides of Pt and Pd on a ceramic carrier comprising one kind or two kinds selected from SiO<SB>2</SB>or TiO<SB>2</SB>, on the inner layer of porous partition wall 13 of each gas flow passage of a mullite-based or cordierite-based ceramic honeycomb filter 1 in which many introduction side gas flow passages 12 and discharge side gas flow passages are alternately adjacently arranged. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
