Microvolume biochemical reaction chamber

Methods and apparatus for performing biomolecular reactions using microvolumes of reagents are disclosed. The apparatus and methods include a chamber (19) having a height less than 50 microns and means for mixing (30,32,24,26) the extremely small volume of fluid in the chamber (19). The decreased volumes combined with mixing greatly improved microarray hybridization signal strength. <IMAGE>
