PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame retardant woven fabric excellent in form retainability, and to provide a carbonized woven fabric excellent in a mechanical property and an electrical property, and to provide a method for an effective production of them. SOLUTION: The flame retardant woven fabric comprises flame retardant twisted spun yarns having 1.35-1.45 of fiber specific gravity,≥100 mm of average fiber length, and 250-500 dtex. The carbonized woven fabric comprises carbon fiber spun yarns each of which has≥20Åof crystal size,≥0.02 of a specific surface oxygen concentration O/C measured by a X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and the fabric has 60-150 g/m<SP>2</SP>of fabric weight.
