Method of manufacturing rolled metal plastic bearing sleeves

The sleeve (1) is manufactured from a blank metal strip. The strip is precut to the correct width. It is perforated, cut to the correct length, and a round blank is formed from it. Plastic is then injected into the formed sleeve in an injection-moulding/transfer-moulding machine at a temperature, which is suitable for the plastic used. The ends of the sleeve blank are clamped together. Sealing lips of plastic are injected-moulded on both ends of the sleeve. Grooves, chamfers etc. are simultaneously formed in the inner running (3) surface.
