<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an action mechanism of an upright piano which can be evaluated with high accuracy regardless of the variations occurring in the individual differences of the action mechanism itself. <P>SOLUTION: A screw 14 configurating height adjusting means 13 is attached to the under surface of a wippen 12. The lower part of the screw 14 is mounted with an adjusting button 15 and this adjusting button 15 is placed on a castan screw 9 across a sound absorbing member 16.
