PURPOSE: An auxiliary battery device is provided to achieve improved use convenience by permitting the upper cover to be easily open/shut by a simple operation. CONSTITUTION: An auxiliary battery device(30) comprises a case body(31) for accommodating a battery cell serving as an auxiliary battery for a portable audio or video player, and which has a first protrusion(35) and a second protrusion arranged at the upper portion of the case body; an upper cover(39) including a side portion coupled to the first protrusion and an upper portion connected to the side portion so as to cover the case body, wherein the upper portion has a coupling member arranged downward along the direction of the second protrusion; and a push knob(59) coupled to the second protrusion and connected to the coupling member of the upper cover, wherein the push knob is released from the upper cover by the force applied from an external source.
