PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens system which is made usable for photographing in a visible light region and a near IR region, is made into a special structure for switching wavelength regions by correcting the set position of a tracking lens to match an object distance corresponding to various set positions of a focusing lens and considerably expands the photographable wavelength regions. SOLUTION: A CPU 16 of a lens apparatus 10 detects a photographing mode selected by a set switch 18. As the photographing mode, the photographing in the visible light region and the photographing in the near IR region are selectable. When the photographing mode of the near IR region is selected, the CPU 16 corrects the set position of the tracking lens TL in such a manner that the object distances (the distances of an object at which the object is focused) with respect to the various set positions of the focusing lens FL are matched with the object distances in the photographing mode of the visible light region based on the set position of the focusing lens FL and the zooming lens ZL.
