PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for repairing a valve element of a hot air valve and a seat ring for repair to reduce a repair cost an shorten a term of works by replacing only the seriously damaged seat ring by reutilizing a less damaged valve body. SOLUTION: In repair of the valve element of the hot air valve having the valve element consisting of a valve body where a spiral cooling flow passage ranging from its center to an outer peripheral edge is formed between two valve plates, and the seat ring mounted on the outer peripheral edge of the valve element in a manner to be communicated with the cooling water flow passage, the damaged seat ring is separated away from the two valve plates of the valve element at positions of radiuses different in a distance from the center. The seat rings 15 for repair different in an inside diameter are securely combined with prepared peripheral wall and the both sides thereof. This constitution does not need new manufacture of the whole valve element, and enables reduction of a repair cost of the valve element of the hot air valve and shortening of a term of works.
