PURPOSE: A device for connecting a stand to a flat-panel image display device is provided to support a portrait function without changing a structure of the image display device by interposing the connection device to a connecting part between a monitor and the stand of the image display device not supporting the portrait function. CONSTITUTION: A hinge assembly(3) offers the torque for adjusting an inclination angle of the monitor(1) by rotatively installing to an upper part of a stand(2). A bracket assembly(4) is fixed to the hinge assembly(3). A hinge bracket of a disc shape is fixed to a front part of the bracket assembly(4). A rear bracket(7) of the disc shape is fixed to the connection part(11) formed to a rear part of the monitor(1) and is rotatively joined to the hinge bracket. A cap(5) is fixed to the connection part(11) of the monitor(1) in order to surround the hinge assembly(4), the hinge bracket, and the rear bracket(7).
