PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that though recently the solvent method has been noticed as a method for recovering a vinyl chloride polymer from a polyvinyl chloride product composed of the vinyl chloride polymer, however, an operator is fearful that use of an organic solvent is dangerous, some method has difficulty in separation between a good solvent and a poor solvent and it is rather difficult to say that the solvent method is an established method. SOLUTION: Dichloromethane having no fear of inflammability and explosivity under a normal condition is used as a main. Consequently grave danger is avoided and dichloromethane is extremely readily separated from most poor solvents due to its low boiling point.
