PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a bad odor of bedclothes from spreading outside while reducing the burden of air circulation on a patient inside the bedclothes being used by the patient. SOLUTION: In this method for deodorizing the bedclothes for a patient, the bedclothes are covered with a odor-impermeable cover. The air coming through an air passage 11 is sent, under the sheet, from above the bedclothes downward, and then rectified in flow and slowed down as it is passed through double sponge-like air flow decelerating and rectifying boards 3 placed both upper and lower sides of the patient. After that, the air is stored in an odor treatment air storing tank 4 installed under the bedclothes, and most of the treated air is circulated through a deodorizing device 5 incorporating an air blower or compressor 6, an ultraviolet lamp 7, a photocatalyst 8, and activated carbon 9 to be returned to the odor treatment air storing tank 4 via a circulation passage 10.
