PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ice machine and an ice making method that can produce ice containing useful gas at high concentration while improving ice making efficiency by easily removing ice from an ice making space forming body. SOLUTION: Ice is produced in the ice making space forming body of bottomed cylinder shape extended in a vertical direction, by injecting water in the ice making space forming body and cooling the ice making space forming body. An ice discharge port for discharging the produced ice is provided at the upper part of the ice making space forming body, and a water injection port is provided near the bottom part of the ice making space forming body. Water is pressed in from the water injection port to push up the produced ice and to discharge the ice from the ice discharge port. The ice making space forming body is gradually enlarged upward. In discharging the ice from the ice discharge port, the ice is discharged with the lower end part remaining in the ice making space forming body, and the remaining ice is made a lid for blocking the ice making space forming body.
