PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sediment flushing method and sediment flushing equipment capable of gradually discharging sedimentary sand to the downstream side and removing it without discarding stored water without requiring large quantity of energy. SOLUTION: An impervious sheet 20 is laid so as to cover a sedimentary sand layer 2 except a water supply opening 3 on the upper face of the sedimentary sand layer 2. Water intruding in between the upper face of the sedimentary sand layer 2 and the impervious sheet 0 through the water supply opening 3 flows out from a sediment flushing passage way 11 discharge the sand and soil of the sedimentary sand layer 2 by engulfing sand and soil flowing between the layer 2 and the impervious sheet 20 to form the sedimentary sand layer 2.
