OPTICAL RECEPTACLE AND ARRANGEMENT STRUCTURE OF THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical receptacle and an arrangement structure of the same by which the risk of incidence of emitted light on human eyes is small in the case of connecting an optical fiber inside of a room.

SOLUTION: A light emitting means and a first connection part for connecting a first optical fiber with it opposed to the light emitting means are housed in a casing. The casing is provided with: an opening part through which the first optical fiber can be inserted toward the first connection part from the outside of the casing; and a light shielding means which is provided between the opening part and the first connection part to be opened when the first optical fiber is inserted and to be closed when the first optical fiber is not inserted and which can shield light so as to prevent the light from the light emitting means from being leaked from the opening part. The optical receptacle is arranged in a wall so that its opening part side faces a room side in this arrangement structure of the optical receptacle.
