PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a liquidtightness of a position detecting instrument having a sensor base plate housed in a case and lead wires connected to the sensor base plate to be drawn from an outside thereof. SOLUTION: The position detecting instrument has a sensor base plate 11 provided with a sensor circuit outputting signals in response to magnetic force and the case 30 housing the sensor base plate 11, to which a cab tyre cable 20 is connected. The cab tyre cable 20 has the lead wires 21 connected to connecting terminals of the sensor base plate 11 and covered with insulation body layers and a covering body 23 for bundling and covering the lead wires 21. The cab tyre cable 20 is provided with protrusions 24 formed by protruding the insulation body layers from the covering body 23 and ingression preventing portions 26 mounted via lead wire exposing portions 25 between connecting portions 21a of lead wire points and the protrusions 24.
