DIGITAL DEMODULATING DEVICE, MARGIN DETERMINING METHOD FOR THE SAME

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine a line margin with high precision in response to the line margin determined by relation between a conventional reception electric field strength and a bit error rate by grasping the margin up to the limit of an equalizing ability in an automatic equalizer which is arranged in a digital demodulating device.

SOLUTION: The automatic equalizer arranged in the digital demodulating device comprises a function for calculating the absolute sum of tap coefficients excluding the main tap in the tap coefficients of the automatic equalizer which change in response to the situation of a transmission line. The margin is recognized to the limit of the equalizing ability in the automatic equalizer by using the calculated absolute sum.
