PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image output device in which an image at a moment when a user instructs printing can be surely selected out of displayed video. SOLUTION: The image output device is provided with a video buffer for updating and holding an inputted video signal by a unit of a frame image comprising an image data holding unit 103 composed of a first image holding unit 103A for holding the latest frame image, a second image data holding unit 103B for holding the frame image that goes back (n) pieces of frames in time from the first frame image and a third image data holding unit 103C for holding the frame image that goes back (m) pieces of frames in time from the first frame image, a moving picture display unit 105 for displaying the latest frame image held in the first image data holding unit 103A, a print data selection unit 104 for selecting the frame image stored in any one of the first - the third image data holding units 103A-103C as a print object, a display unit 106 for confirming and displaying the selected frame image, and a print data generation unit 110 for converting the selected image into print data.
