<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tandem type color image forming apparatus capable of automatically correcting a positional deviation caused by that respective color positional deviation detecting patterns written on an intermediate transfer body are curved. <P>SOLUTION: A tandem type color printing device is equipped with sensors for a positional deviation amount measuring means and a positional deviation correcting means. The positional deviation amount measuring means are provided at three or more spots (a, b and c) in the main scanning direction of a photoreceptor, and the lateral line position BK of the black positional deviation detecting pattern written on the intermediate transfer body is measured by a plurality of sensors so as to obtain the primary approximate line L-BK of a measuring point. Then, the primary approximate lines L-Y, L-C and L-M of the lateral line positions (Y, C and M) of the yellow, cyan and magenta positional deviation detecting patterns are obtained and corrected to be nearly aligned with the approximate line L-BK of the lateral line of black. The positional deviation is corrected by adjusting the inclination of the photoreceptor or adjusting the attaching angle of a reflecting mirror for a laser beam. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
