PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a new optical scanner of a type that a plurality of surfaces to be scanned are simultaneously optically scanned with beams radiated from a plurality of light sources, and a part of an optical system forming an optical path leading to each surface to be scanned from the light source is made common. SOLUTION: In the optical scanner, the several groups of beams are deflected by the same light deflection means and guided to the surface to be scanned different from every group of the beams by a scanning image-formation optical system so as to optically scan the several surfaces to be scanned. The respective groups of the beams deflected by the light deflection means 5 are transmitted through two scanning lenses. The scanning lens 7 out of the two scanning lenses transmits the several groups of beams going toward the different surfaces to be scanned, and its power in a main scanning direction: Pm and its power in a subscanning direction: Ps satisfy a condition: Pm>0≥Ps, and the scanning lenses 8A to 8D have positive power in the subscanning direction and transmit only the group of the beams going toward the same surface to be scanned.
