PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform photographing by emitting flash light with exact emitted light quantity even when a range-finding device outputs an erroneous result in range-finding. SOLUTION: A guide number GNo is calculated from the result of range- finding by a multipoint range-finding device 2. Next, light pre-emission by a flash light emitting part 7 is performed, and light quantity at that time is detected by a light quantity detecting device 3. When the result of the detection of the light quantity at this time does not show a value corresponding to the result of the previous range-finding, the number GNo is decreased.
